About this role

As an Oxfam Shop placement, you will gain experience in all areas of running a shop. You can choose to specialise in a specific area, such as creating your own upcycled collection to sell in one of our shops, or maybe you are a budding visual merchandiser who wants to customer profile the area the shop is in, undertake trend research to then create mood boards, shop themes and design shop layouts. There are also administration and e-commerce opportunities, taking photographs and being responsible for reviewing images before they go onto the site. You will be using your fashion and trend knowledge to create appealing and accurate written content for the Oxfam Online Shop as well as mood boards to communicate trends to the entire team.

Or maybe you want to get stuck in with everything, from planning to execution – there are many opportunities you can seize.

What happens next?

After you apply the manager will ask you to come in for an initial chat. This is not an interview, just a chance to get an idea of what you'd like to do in the shop. From there you can meet the rest of the volunteer team and get involved with whatever area of the shop takes your interest!
